Companies urge Europe to maintain climate ambitions

EU leaders have been urged by leading business organisations to agree a 2030 energy and climate change policy framework and energy security strategy. The plans should compliment Europe’s long term objectives with a view to implementing a global agreement.

The Prince of Wales’s Corporate Leaders Group has obtained support for the statement from a number of business across several sectors. The statement will be released later this month.

Director of the CLG, Sandrine Dixson-Decleve said:

“Decisions taken in the climate and energy policy space have an enormous impact on sustainable investments. Our members are increasingly concerned about the potential cost and risk associated with delayed action. Lack of clear policy will have a negative impact on supply chains, resource availability, and society as a whole.”
