DECC seeks views on grace period for onshore wind

The Department for Energy and Climate Change has issued a policy paper providing further information on the proposed grace period for the closure of the Renewables Obligation.

It will be replaced by new onshore wind sources.

It has been proposed that, to be eligible for a grace period projects will need to be able to demonstrate that by 18 June 2015, they have:

1. Planning consent; 2. A grid connection offer; 3. Acceptance of the connection offer; 4. A Director’s Certificate confirming the developer or proposed operator of the station owned the land on which the station was to be situated or has an option to lease the land.

Responses have been welcomed until 20 July 2015.
