Businesses doubt UK energy security

A study by Bircham Dyson Bell has revealed that 58% of business believe the UK could face an energy shortage in the next five years. The research was published by the Energy Crunch white paper.

Approximately two-thirds of businesses have a contingency plan in place for power outages. However the firm’s biggest concerns are that power cuts would cause interruption to business and to loss of earnings.

Additional findings include that 46% of businesses were seeing an increase in energy consumption and 21% were seeing the opposite effect.
