DECC plans reforms to Warm Home Discount
The Department for Energy and Climate Change launched its consultation on planned changes to the Warm Home Discount Scheme for 2016-2017. Part of the proposal is a cap on the total proportion of Industry Incentives spending that each supplier can use for debt assistance.
The Department is also seeking to allow organisations to create innovative schemes to alleviate fuel poverty. This is expected to identify those that are vulnerable and offer support.
Initial views are being sought on the future of the scheme by 2016-2017. Responses are being invited by 6 May.
