REA launches guide to support commercial solar PV installations

Representatives from the UK solar industry have recently met to launch the new good practice guide for installing solar PV on commercial buildings. The guide is produced by BRE National Solar Centre in consultation with Renewable Energy Association.

Gaynor Hartnell, Advisor to the REA said:

“There is enough commercial roof area in the UK to generate around half of our electricity needs. This guide tells landlords and tenants all they need to know about having solar PV installed. It comes with a downloadable financial model to help develop the business case. The guide details two routes building owners and occupiers can go down – investing in the solar panels themselves, or having a third party finance the panels and entering into an agreement to buy the electricity generated.” “With solar PV, companies can have more control of their energy supplies, manage their costs and cut down on their carbon emissions.”
