Government offers funding for low emission vehicle technology

The Office for Low Emission Vehicles, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and Innovate UK are to invest up to £24 million to create an industry led research project for vehicle technology that provides significant reductions in real-world emissions.

Competitions for funding are split into three separate streams:

Stream 1: This will fund collaborative technical feasibility studies. These should be for disruptive technology that could achieve significant emissions savings from road vehicles. Projects range in size from £200,000 to £500,000.

Stream 2: This will fund collaborative research and development projects. These will focus on technologies to achieve emission reductions from road vehicles. Projects will range in size from £2 million to £4 million.

Stream 3: this will fund collaborative research and development projects that can produce results in 1 year. They should focus on significant emission reductions from road vehicles with a rapid delivery outlay. Projects will range from £500,000 to £1.5 million.
