Do you install equipment?

No - green energy uk are purchasers of electricity. We can sometimes help you find an installer in your area so give us a call or you can find an accredited installer on the MCS web site.

How long am I tied to green energy uk?

We have no fixed period for the supply and export of electricity. If you are moving out of an address with a FiT accredited installation installed there, please give us a call to let us know.

Would I get involved with VAT?

Not unless you are already a VAT registered business. If you are VAT registered, please make sure you fill in the appropriate section on the FiT application form.

Am I eligible for the Feed in Tariff (FiT)?

  • If you installed after 15th July 2009 - yes
  • If you have installed prior to 15th July 2009 but have applied for accreditation under the RO (Renewable Obligation) - yes
  • If you installed prior to 15th July and have not applied for accreditation under the RO, no you will not be eligible for payments.
  • If you install from 1st April 2010 you will need to use an MCS accredited installer in order to qualify.

How is the Feed in Tariff paid?

It is paid through your electricity supplier. If you want green energy uk to pay your FiT you'll need to become a green energy uk customer for your supply.

Your bank account will be credited with FiT payments on a quarterly basis.

I’m a commercial generator, can I sell you my energy?

green energy uk will accept anyone with installed capacity of up to 50kW under the Feed in Tariff. Other suppliers may accept higher installed capacity. green energy uk are a voluntary FiT supplier.

If your installation is larger than this we would love to talk to you about setting up an individual Power Purchase Agreement.

We are also interested in talking to generators who are currently on the CHP or Renewable register at Ofgem.

What if I’m off grid?

You can still claim FiT payments by signing up with an electricity supplier. Here is a list of Registered FIT licensed suppliers.

What if I don’t have an export meter?

Microgenerators can still receive export payments on an estimated or "deemed" basis. This will be a temporary measure until smart metering is finalised.

What about the Renewable Heat Incentive?
