What is the Priority Services Register (PSR)?

It is a free service overseen by our industry regulator, Ofgem. It’s used to ensure the correct support is given to those that need it.

For example if you rely on your energy supply for health reasons, your network operator can tell you about planned power cuts.

How do I know I’m eligible?

You can usually sign up for the PSR if you fall into one or more of the eligibility criteria.

How do I sign up to the register?

If you think you could need additional support and you are eligible then please let us know.

To ensure that you receive the appropriate support should you ever need it, we will need the detail surrounding your eligibility.

The kind of support you can receive

• Advance notice of planned power cuts.
• Priority support in an emergency.
• Identification and password scheme.
• Help with prepayment meter access.
• Regular meter reading services.
• Accessible information such as bills in large print or braille.

You are eligible if you:

• Have reached your state pension age
• Are disabled
• Have a long-term medical condition
• Are recovering from an injury
• Have a hearing or sight condition
• Have a mental health condition
• Are pregnant or have young children
• Have extra communication needs

Further support and advice

You might still be able to register for other reasons if your situation isn’t listed. For example, if you need short-term support after a stay in hospital.
