World Environment Day 5th June

Tree planting to celebrate biodiversity

Green Energy UK is celebrating World Environment Day by planting 9 trees at Battlers Green farm to celebrate each of the 9 years they have been in business. Battlers Green Farm and their rural shopping village and tea rooms are long standing Green Energy UK customers. The Ware-based supplier of 100% renewable and 100% green electricity hopes the tree planting will draw attention to this year’s United Nations World Environment Day on Saturday 5 June, which focuses on biodiversity. The 9 trees are a mixture of oak, ash, mountain ash, chestnut and hornbeam, and will provide the farm with further habitat for indigenous species of wildlife to thrive in. Doug Stewart, Green Energy UK founder and chief exec, says: “Small changes can make a big difference and it's important we all do what we can to help preserve the environment, and the variety of life that lives in it.”
