Green Energy listens to its customers and offers dual fuel for the first time

The independent energy supplier, Green Energy, has launched a dual fuel gas and electricity product for the first time in its history. Residential and business customers have been switching to Green Energy for their electricity since 2001 but now residential customers can choose Green Energy for their gas as well.

Green Energy's move to supply gas is in response to customer feedback: 82.35% of Green Energy's customers who are also shareholders in the company and who replied to a questionnaire wanted Green Energy to supply them with gas as well as their electricity. All but a handful who said they weren't interested in gas from Green Energy weren't connected to the gas network.

Doug Stewart, Green Energy's Chief Executive said: “For some time, our customer shareholders have been asking us why we don't do gas and now we do. They made the point that they buy gas anyway and would prefer to buy from us as they liked our service levels. Our dual fuel product is competitively priced and our electricity is supplied from accredited, sustainable sources at no extra cost to our customers.

Earlier this year we commissioned ComRes to survey what customers think about the energy market and what they want from their energy supplier: notably, customer service was just as important as competitive prices. Listening and acting on what customers want is a core part of our service ethos, and the move to supply gas is an obvious demonstration of that.

Green Energy prides itself on its excellent customer service, and providing its customers with fair pricing. An average London household that has never switched its energy suppliers can save 3% on its annual energy bills if it switched to Green Energy's dual fuel product.”
